Alberta internet & emergency access

About this map

An open Alberta map that puts rural internet performance next to geographic access to 24-hour emergency departments, so a household or community can see both at once.

The map covers all 6,203 Statistics Canada 2021 dissemination areas in Alberta. Colour the polygons by measured download speed, CARI+ emergency access, advertised 50/10 coverage, or logged dwelling counts. Search a municipality, filter rural areas, or sketch approximate internet supplier types.

Limitations

CARI+ measures geographic access only. It does not include emergency wait times, temporary department closures, or air- and boat-only travel. M-Lab tests are user-initiated and often geolocated to a city centroid. ISED 50/10 bands are advertised household share, not a speed test.
